I'm guessing the 8 was on the a rotating platform since the shifter is still on.

 

Is that soundproofing insulation on the Firewall?

If you look Really Really close to the rear seat you will see the ribs. Not as pronounced as the pics I posted but its there. The front seat looks normal. Thats wierd

 

Speaking of shifters, is that the way it's always been? I could've sworn I've seen pix of a shorter shifter than that one, and was looking forward to having a shorter-throw shifter.

 

it is vey short and short throw to boot. it appears longer in some shots depending on what gear and angle the pic was taken in and also how well the boot has held up to many many peopel messing with it. i know this because some of us worried about the same thing a couple of months ago.
