Cool More carbon fiber engine bay covers...

Hello everyone. My name is Joe Talarico. Obviously I am new to the board and I am glad I found it! At least my fiancee and I can access some good info for her new 8!! Before we found this site we didn't really know of any other places to find info....isn't like the dealerships hand you out URLs. Nice place here and glad we came across it.

Anyhow, I personally own a Mitsubishi Eclipse that has a custom carbon fiber interior done by Carbonwerks, not some sticker crap either. Well since they have done everything for my Mitsubish Eclipse's interior so far, I also asked him (Leo) to also start making parts for my fiancee's RX8! He was more than happy to have a RX8 for R&D!

So far he has made the engine bay covers and radiator shroud with the exception of the largest one which I am still waiting on. He also made the 2 armrest covers and we'll hae those put in the car next week. I sent him the front and rear armrest and they made master plugs and molds for them both. So our car will be sporting those too.

Well tomorrow at work I will upload some pictures of her engine bay so far and I will post pictures as soon as Leo is done with the dual armrest covers. Good stuff...all high temp resins, vacumm bagged and/OR tradition wet-layup methods. You can also see my car's interior on his Team page. Check it out too. Last time we talked they were starting to vacumm "infuse" parts. Kinda' cool. Since they did sooo much to my first car I got to help out a bit and see what is involved. Cool guy, one man shop too.

Here are some pictures which are on his site, I will post mine tomorrow evening.

Joe

Sorry, he cannot discuss prices here in open forum unless he becomes a paying site vendor.

Oh make no mistake about it, I do not work for Carbonwerks or make any profit from this guy. No different than if you had found a body kit and mentioned prices and specs of where you found a sweet kit. None the less, I respect any forum rules. So just check the web site I linked in the above post. They do all kinds of cars. Hell, I even tried to get him to do my Nissan truck!!! LOL.:D Had to try!
But he just hooked me up really sweet since I had an RX8 at my disposal and he needed a donor car to use!! I got lucky. Still charges me but not regular prices since my parts are used for the molds.

that is very tempting! I do all this to dress up my engine, and then the mazda dealer keeps slapping stickers all over the place in there!!-and without the slightest inkling towrds making them straight either

Very tempting.. IPT had better get moving fast. Perfect compatibility with my CF engine cover is my only concern. I do like the idea of CF for the radiator shroud.

Question: Are the fuse/battery/ecu pieces covers or replacements. They look like they just slip over top the existing plastic.

Per the website they are covers that stick on top of your OE pieces w/double-sided tape, and the set of 3 goes for $210.

I will still get pictures up later...I have to get more batteries for the digicam!!
Anyhow, I have seen other places that make these and they are just covers too. Only the larger cover is a replacement....oh and the radiator shroud he's making for my girl's ride is a replacement also.
