SCCA TT Nationals Highlights video from PittRace

I'm a bit late to share this here, but here's a highlights video of my best laps and kinda sketchy moments at the 2025 SCCA TT Nationals event at PittRace. I was able to take the win and set a new Tuner 4 track record in the process (after they punted the S2000s to Tuner 3). I think the RX-8 is a pretty competitive platform in Tuner 4, with the big challenges being the BMW 128i and FRS/BRZ. Probably more competitive in this class than in SCCA DST autocross. But the nice thing is that at least regionally an RX-8 can be fast in both SCCA Tuner 4 TT and DST autocross.

That's some nice driving. I hope to execute this well one day. I noticed you hit the brake pedal with your left foot briefly after coming out of a couple of the turns. Why did you do this? What were you correcting?
Thanks for posting.

That's what Dan Gurney called the "chicken s**t school of braking". hahaha. it serves two purposes:
1. make sure the brakes are still there!
2. re-seat the pads in the faces of the rotors due to pad knockback. basically you want a firm, consistent pedal every time you plan to brake at-the-limit.

Are you actually getting pad knockback on track in the 8?

Yes. sometimes quite significantly. being aggressive on curbs and over rumble strips makes it worse.
