After two successful visits down south to The tail of the dragon and thousands of miles of pushing my car hard through the mountain and road tripping, i ended up hitting a deer back home in my good ol State of NY, go figure. How many miles are on the midpipe?

 

to be honest I’m not really sure, I purchased it off of a member on here a couple of years back, and only used it to pass emissions since I’m in NY and ran the BHR catless Midpipe full time, I used to do the swap myself and the BHR unit is much lighter & easier to handle than the OEM cat.

 

That's the thing. I dont really need a cat (no emissions requirements). I would love to go catless. and get rid of my air pump at the same time. I am afraid of the heavy smell though and the noise as well (but lesser so). How do you find the smell and noise to be with the catless BHR?

 

If you get rid of the air pump just make sure to get the bock off plate for the headers, catless will definitely be louder but depends on your cat back and preference, my last setup was with the exotic speed cat back and I thought it was just right, I’ve also had the HKS Hi power single exit and that was obnoxiously loud, but some people like that. smell is definitely there with the catless and depending which way the wind is blowing when your windows are down you’ll get a whiff , but I dealt with it, now the BHR w/ the high flow cat definitely quiets it down a bit but not much and also gives it a deeper tone with some bass to it which is nice , the important part here tho is whichever route you go you won’t be sacrificing performance, the OEM cat really hurts torque down low. Unless you plan on tracking your car you can’t go wrong with the catted version of the BHR midpipe, especially if you’re concerned about the smell.

Looking at the pic just made me realize the previous owner of my BHR mid pipe simply poked out the cat material -lol. He gave me a receipt from BHR showing extra charge for widebang bung and cat. I thought he ordered a fake outside welded on to pass visual this whole time. Either way, I replaced it with RB dual resonated along with RB exhaust. I have been keeping it as an extra in case the packaging material from the RB resonators ever give out.
