How do you drive? Shoes, posture, eye protection etc.
This is my first topic outside the newbie forum... SHOW ME NO MERCY. I know there are similar topics, but I made a fresh and more specific one with a clean format.
When you drive, what are your non-mechanicals? Your driver upgrades that aren't between the ears. Both on-road and on-track welcome.
Format:
Posture and hand position.
Seat, wheel and armrest positions if applicable.
What do you wear on your head? A specific helmet? A specific brand of clip-on sunglasses?
What do you wear on your feet?
Hands? Driving gloves? Specific wheel type or covering? Shift **** besides short-throw kit (as in touch feel)?
Anything else you do that isn't mechanical or a bolt-on cosmetic. Special windshield coating? Spray-on bedliner on the control *****? What's your zen?

I'll go first.
I'm in USA, so my left hand is always at the 10 position and my right is resting loosely around the shift ****. With just my thumb lightly on top of it to feel the flywheel. During hard maneuvering I'm at 10 and 2.
I sit old-school GT-car style. Seat all the way down, back to where my legs are still slightly bent when the pedals are floored. I angle my seat slightly back and recline it a little, for a sort of 70s Ferrari position. Wheel all the way down, which blocks my view of some of the gauges, but none of the windscreen from my low position.
I wear separate prescription sunglasses that I don't take out of the car. I don't like being caught without them.
I've landed on skateboarding shoes with the laces removed for footwear when driving. They still hold well without laces, have good flexibility and are designed not to catch on things. They're also relatively light and similar to shoes marketed for driving.
My hands aren't super sweaty, so I'm not too picky. For my truck I've found this amazing trick where knobbed wheel covers with 36 ***** are designed for backing up. Never knew. Other than that don't care much.
I hate any damage to glass. Like I can't abide even a chip, but I hate spending money and glass is expensive. So I have tried too many times to replace my own windshield and got a steamer or a whistler. Some day I will learn.

Posture and hand position: Slightly reclined, but more sporty/"prepared". usually both hands 9 and 3, but sometimes right hand up at 2:00.
Seat, wheel and armrest positions if applicable: Back enough for my arms to be a comfortable distance, but positioning to pedals is still on the closer side. Wheel is tilted to be down/straight on towards me. I have a Street Aero carbon fiber wheel that has a slightly smaller diameter.
What do you wear on your head? A specific helmet? A specific brand of clip-on sunglasses?: Just prescription sunglasses or Pit Vipers.
What do you wear on your feet?: Nike skate shoes for better pedal feel and less bulkiness.
Hands? Driving gloves? Specific wheel type or covering? Shift **** besides short-throw kit (as in touch feel)?: I have some motorcross gloves that I intend to use for future spirited drives, which will be helpful for hand fatigue more than anything.
Anything else you do that isn't mechanical or a bolt-on cosmetic. Special windshield coating? Spray-on bedliner on the control *****? What's your zen?: I swapped out my shifter **** for a white ball style. I like the feel better than the stock shifter. It does take slightly more effort due to being shorter/smaller, but it also makes the throws slightly shorter. I usually just turn off all the music and listen to the engine. I also did the throttle pedal mod to make it easier to heel-toe.

Posture: seat low, back fairly upright, slight bend in arms at 9 and 3. Wheel close enough that wrists rest on top. No armrest, I want full control. Head: just polarized sunglasses, nothing fancy, cuts glare and eye strain.Feet: thin-soled shoes, almost sneaker-driver hybrids. You feel the pedals way better.Hands: no gloves on the street, but on track light leather gloves for grip and sweat. I like a slightly textured wheel and a weighted shift **** for smoother throws.Other: clean glass always, https://tropical-casino.com/ inside and out. That plus a calm cabin is kind of the whole zen.
