2004 brakes seized, need help.

Hey all, my 2004 RX-8 has the brakes seized up. Pedal was adjusted too tight/low years ago right after a brake job, and now i need to unf*ck what i f*cked up.

I need to know brake pedal adjustment nut size to readjust it properly, so i can pull start this thing and get it running again. Any tips or tricks?

To be clear, i need the brake system functional again to be able to tow-start it, car will not even crank (appears to be carbon locked) but i can clear that up with ATF and hand cranking.

Thanks!

Which wheel is seized? Or is the master cylinder seized?

all 4 brakes have been locked up since the pedal was overadjusted, i assume this means removal of brake pedal assy and/brake master cylinder...

I'd start by releasing the bleed bolts on each caliper and seeing if that frees the wheels enough to turn. Maybe with the help of a mallet on caliper. Work backwards from the calipers, you don't want to let air upstream from the ABS module and have to bleed it.

I guess my question here is why would anyone adjust the brake booster push rod as part of a brake pad and rotor replacement? Unless the booster was replaced and you needed to set the depth of the pushrod to master cylinder, it should never be adjusted when performing a brake job.

Are you sure that the brake rotors aren't just rusty and causing the pads to bind to them? I have an 04 RX-8 that's been sitting for some time waiting to be restored and the brakes are pretty well seized up. I have had to take the brakes apart and clean everything up just to move it.
