The search has ended. I Did a thing.

This 2009 sport model followed me home.

105, 104, 108 @ 315 RPM, front rotor
111, 108, 109 @ 316 RPM, rear rotor

$8,000

48,000 mi

Needs ignition coils and spark plugs.

How'd I do?

Hot.

Drove for 20 mins before the compression check and burned my hand on the engine mount getting the front leading plug out.

Severe hesitation at 4-5k RPM makes me think she needs ignition coils.

The fact that the electrode came off the front leading plug when I yanked the plug wire boot and the thick, grey carbon deposits all over the plug tips says the plugs need replacement.

I've got a "BennettBuilt" ignition coil set and a set of NGKs ready to drop in. See how that does.

Congratulations on your new RX-8!! Looks like you found a great example. The price point seems fair given the overall condition and compression numbers! Keep us updated on how things go following the ignition refresh!!

Gone are the days of the $2 ea BR8EQ-14s on My first gen.

You can get them from Rock Auto for $20 and $21 per plug. Still way more expensive than our BR8EQ-14 plugs for our FB's!! I still have BR7ET plugs in my SA. Also, are you the same Pele from rx7club.com?

He is I and I am him... Slim with the tilted brim.

Needed the plugs the same day. Supply and demand / cost of convenience... Because I broke off one of the electrode terminals when I pulled the plug boot.
