Hey 8Club!
Looking for the elusive MS s1 rear bumper diffuser.
Preferably used condition; poor paint, cracks or damage ok as I'm planning to cut it apart for a project. Not really looking to spend too much, just for a funny diy project I'm willing to try. There's a few reasonable aftermarket options available but involves international shipping and I'm hoping to find something stateside.
i would look at an aftermarket fiberglass one if you are gonna hack it up. they can be found pretty cheap and you wont be destroying a rare part @Ricky SE3P might know where to get one with cheap shipping
Nope, no leads here for a rear diffuser. I just picked up a KBD rear instead that wont be the prettiest but works, and from my understanding the KBD rear bumper mold was made using a OEM rear bumper with a mazdaspeed rear diffuser. They simply one-piece molded it and make slits on the rear sides of the wheel arches to give it a slightly different appearance as far as I can tell. Might be worth considering buying one of those as the starting base for the cost and then just cutting that up. Depending on the project you have in mind, it could interest me as well and I can take some measurements or may want to do it too.

Thanks for the info, good to know. My oem rear bumper has the lower portion cut off and my idea is to remove the outer flares from the diffuser and attach them. Mainly looking to recreate something aesthetically similar to how the GT3rs presents its rear end and hopefully provides some function. I've been observing what could potentially be applicable from aero podcasts, blogs and how teams / manufacturer's approach directing messy airflow. With my rear tires completely exposed and spilling out all kinds of chaotic air, some sort of outer curtains "should" help direct more flow out the back. We'll see.

I hear you on cutting up niche parts but it kinda goes hand in hand with the modifying aspect of the hobby. So I've come to accept a certain amount of give and take in that respect. Always nice to use oem parts if / when you can, and besides, it'll be going to a good home. haha
Here's some of what I found available online that might be suitable for oem rear bumper. Really about finding the correct dimensions imo and cutting / modification is part of the process. I'm waiting to hear back on some measurements.
