Music system random failure Help!
Hi all
I did already the presentation on the new member forum.
I need help. It is related to the music system of my car, let me explain the failure, what I've tried and what I think. I am a little bit frustrated at this point.
Mazda RX8 Standard
Year 2007
Sound system BOSE
No mods. OEM music equipment as coming from factory
here the failure
When I am listening to music I have the following failures randomly it doesn't matter if I am driving or not if the car is turnned on or just the key switched, the failures are not a cascade of events. It can be 2 days fine, 3 days failing the right side( the side that almost always fail) it can stay with lower sounds 10 minutes or 1 day. it doesnt matter if the car is hot or cold. it doesnt change if ithe car is going downhill or uphill
The speakers fail randomly across the car:
1. Many times the whole right side sounds lower than the rest of the car and make "radio" noises
2. Sometimes everything works great
3. Sometimes the whole music sounds lower ( like at 50%) even if I set it to Max( when all is lower there is good quality of music without any noise)
4. Only once the whole music system has failed with very low sound and also "radio" noise
What I tried so far:
I have reviewed the cables and connectors of the amplifier located in the trunk
I swapped the amplifier with another one I bought ( I was sure it was the amplifier) but it didnt fix the issue so I installed again the previous one
I didnt removed the music system yet, but I can see from behind copilot side the cables. All looks OK
I reviewed the DVD player and the cables all looks fine
The sound from the GPS works OK
I am getting frustrated. could you please let me know if tis happened to somebody else ?
Note: The first time it failed around 4 months ago I was stuck in traffic going downhill. No sure if have anything to do.

Sounds like typical 20 year old Bose components. Low volume and noise sounds a lot like amplifier failure. Each front speaker has its own amplifier in the door, could be on it's/their way out.
Unfortunately Bose goes out of their way to make it difficult to replace components so you can either get used amps from another RX8 or build en enitrely new set up from headunit down.
Do the rears also losw sound on one side? If so that's more something to do with the head unit

Thank you
I think I discovered whats going on. It is a test I never did because I didnt think it could be.....
It only fails playing CD's..... Meaning that Radio FM stereo doesnt fail ( I did several test at this point and FM Radio sounds great all speakers all bass at maximum volume meanwhile CDs have the failures I've just described). So, I think is the equipment itself. Specifically the CD loader cables/connections outside or inside....
As now I have music I wont do anything more. I will be listening to the top 10 town music forever. even regueton..... anyways.
Your opinions?

Finally I've changed the head unit for another OEM with different version than 10.01 and installed and instaled a GTX Kit to have bluetooh. The new one also have fails on the CD Loader BTW. Now it sounds great from blutooh
