Engine light came up. I drive it so infrequently, just got around to scanning and got p0076 intake valve control solenoid circuit low bank 1. Im pretty knowledgeable with regular engines, however this car was given to me as a gift and knew little about these motors. After doing some research on the code and also the intake system, I gathered there could be various things that could throw this code. So I was wondering if anyone had any clue where I should start

I had no symptoms from this at first until I drove it a good distance and noticed when I got home, the heat radiating from the floor boards was a lot more then I was used to feeling. Also there is oil around the filler on top the engine. I had issues when I first got the car with the fuel system. It wasn’t using the last 1/4 tank of gas until I went into the second fuel tank and reposition the hose in there. It still won’t go all the way to E before it dies but it gets closer now.

otherwise the car has no loss of power, misfires, it doesn’t have difficult cold starts. Any advice or suggestions would help. Thanks. Sorry for the long winded post.
