Vacuum pump

Yup, I’m still around and still have my 8.

Question I’ve been kicking around, when under boost is there sufficient residual vacuum to open the secondary and tertiary ports? Would an electric vacuum pump that turned on only when need be unnecessary?

Just a thought and figured I’d ask the big brains around here.

The vacuum chamber has a one way check valve to prevent that issue. Otherwise the car won't even open the SSV at all, even NA. The car doesn't have a vacuum pump either. You can boost as much as you want, if that check valve is good it will block it and keep the vacuum there for the SSV to use. The APV is opened electronically so that poses no issue either. VDI is to be blocked for boosted engines too.
