Hello everybody and quick question about rotor bearings

Hello all, I’m working on my first rebuild and am very excited. I had spun both rotor bearings with no damage to my housings and sourced 2 new(used) rotors. I have a 6 port manual and the rotors are from a 4 port auto. I understand that they have a different bearing part # than the 6 port manuals however these bearings look great. I’ve also read that a rotor should keep its original bearing to reduce the risk of spinning unless the bearing is abnormally worn. Will I be better off running the 4 port rotors with the 4 port bearings or is it a better idea to switch them to the proper 6 port bearings?

How exactly did you spin both rotor bearings? What did the oil look like when you drained it from the pan? Have pics of the old rotors and bearings?

hey thanks for the response. I have no idea how they spun. I bought the car with low compression and was planning on doing a rebuild. There was no knocking and besides out of spec apex seals, old coolant seals, and a cracked corner seal. But here I am replacing rotors and eshaft hahah. I’ve attached pictures of the bearing and the bearing journal. Both rotors look about the same. I’m essentially torn between using the low power bearings that originally came in the rotors or having somebody press in highpower ones.

i would change to 6 port bearings. im not sure how interchangeable they are thoug. but i've read that the 6 port bearings are considered an upgrade over 4 port bearings, as the 6port bearings need to support the engine up to 9k rpm
