First RX8!

Got this 06 RX8 with 113k for dirt cheap! When I got it it had been sitting for about a year with the intake manifold off. I put everything back together, replaced plugs and tried deflooding. No luck. Any tips on how to get her started. It cranks and RPMS hit about 500 but that’s about it doesn’t start. Thank you!

Are you sure it has compression? Does it sound like it wants to start? Have the ignition coils been replaced? Any codes?

Wish I could post the video. It does sound like it wants to start. I’m not sure about the compression. Coils have been tested and there is spark on all 4.

You can put a video on youtube. It could be many things, especially given the engine had been partially disassembled. Any more info would help narrow it down.

Are all vacuum lines, injector and ignition coil wiring correct and complete? Have you tried deflood procedure?

Before you go any further, get a rotary compression tester and rune a base cold compression test. This will not give you the exact compression numbers, as the engine will need to be at normal operating temperature for that. It will however, give you an idea of what you're working with. You can decide from there how you want to proceed. No reason to waste time and money throwing parts at an engine that has a bad apex or side seal or even a destroyed housing from seal breakage.
