Buying Rx8 kuro or PZ?

Hi all I am buying an Rx8 finally!! Only thing is I have two options and I’m not sure which one to go for. So both similar price one is a Kuro which has had a compression test done and all coming up at high 6s and low 7, the other is a PZ that has less miles at 40k but hasn’t had a compression test. Would you risk it and get what I think a better Mazda or go for the safer option and go for the good compression one 🤔

I would test drive and get the PZ tested. Buying an untested rotary of any kind is playing with fire..

yes of course a test drive is a must, just don’t think they will allow me to do a compression test as that involves taking the wheel off and what not.

Take a couple ramps then. It’s a little tight but, I’ve done a couple tests with the wheels on from below.

If they want to sell the car, they will. You can also negotiate.. a RX8 in unknown condition isn't worth as much as a known good one. So if they don't want to test, great, your offer is going to be some thoudands pounds less.
Typically you ask the seller to have one done. You can pay for it if they insist. They can call their local Mazda dealer to have it done, or a rotary shop if there's one near.

All things being equal I'd go for the PZ. Kuro's aren't particularly special, it's just a trim level, and not always the top one. PZ's are rare and unique.

I have asked if we could carry out tests on the PZ to which he wanted extra money for 🤔 . So I ended up going for the kuro didn’t want to pay extra for the PZ to then have low compression even tho the PZ has better add ons but paint work wasn’t as good and the kuro. Thank you all for the help. I am now officially an RX8 owner 😁😁
