So, I was looking to find a a good short shift for shift box aka RX8
as many goes to use other alternative solution I find out here a company which already doing the 5 speeds and
I did contact them back in 2021, which the reply in germanic manner which would something happened on next spring
Which I did not do and used my trusty hammer and piece of wood to bash the part of the tunnel. ( not laziness just purely didn't want to mess with the alignment of the PPF).
So far all is good, all the birds on the trees sing love long. More coming on this in future.

I would say this is the most accurate, the most pierced shifter I have ever experienced so far! Vey reminded Campagnolo of a road bike. By so far I mean as a person he used to test drive over 20 cars a day.
Pros - accurate and precise - best feedback 100%
Cons - price - noise 100%
Speaking of the noises, make yourself ready to hear them all, I mean by words all, sorts of noise which you could ever imagine in the process of shifting, come to the cabin 100%, no need to mention the winning noise.
I had experienced failure of a particular part, the reverse gear safety lock ring. As seen in the photo the design has issues with the number of materials, considering the part function is more stress-bearing than cycling over time, hence the failure happened when the car wasn't in daily use.

An email back and forth with the photos I got this and nothing more.
I did receive a brand new ring with wire, bols and all part need to be replaced.
Oh did I mention the car shaped gummy bear ? they tase good
Installation was easy, position it, use socket, bash it, done. I did choose to use bicycle gear cable cover couore green/phosphoric left over from campagnolo project. So far I haven't had any issues.
I used an Audi TT MK1 gear gaiter at the beginning but later moved to 3D printing my part
with glow-in-dark materials, using my design to resemble the rotary engines, and finally adding LED backlight to the ring.

Nice, not my sort of thing but looks interesting none the less with the 3d printed shifter surround, definitely different and unique and surprisingly well done.
My real question is what the heck is the trackball mouse for? Never in a million years would I have expected that to be mounted inside of a car.

Trackball is totally another story, it is part of the tablet setup in OEM sat nav hood, which deserves another thread for itself.
was just looking at one about a week ago, and only for the 5-spd or S1 6-spd.
.
Dear be loved friend Yes, it is pricey for what it is, at the moment they are available for 5-speed and 6-speed first generation aka S1 Technically, will the R3/ S2 be an exact match for MX-5 NC?
God bless you

The noise I’m hearing scares me. Is this the noise you are referring to that you hear after install?

Noises !
All of those noises have been there all the time and will be there, the only difference is that you can hear them cleary now.
OEM shifters have plastic parts and bushes to isolate the noise which in turn reduces feedback and the feeling of shifting, and as you know the shifting gear is all about feedback.
Things that can get better :
1- reduce clearance on the reverse safety revanchism, especially the collar as it tends to vibrate like a bell on some RPM's alt, use plastic/ Teflon or a O ring
2- use better isolation on the bottom section, as it sounds funny as it could work, like an inner tube gaiter
3- 3D print TPU bespoke sleeve
