Raleigh NC rotary mechanic.
Just recently bought a 2005 RX8 that was working fine for about 3 days until my wife moved it to park one morning and now it won't turn on any longer. Pretty sure it's flooded considering everything that I've read and watched on the internet. Going to try and deflood it myself tomorrow using this video guide.

If this doesn't succeed I will need a mechanic to take it to. Any mechanics in the Raleigh area that could do this with a history with it

Flooding can be tricky, but once you figure it out, it's not very hard to get it started.

A healthy RX8 won't flood.
Go get the OBD scanned for faults at Auto Zone or other parts store, it's free.
Usual suspects are bad coils, plugs or wires, they cause misfires, dumping raw fuel into the exhaust that damages the catalytic converter.
A clogged cat can kill a Renesis engine.
Simply put, misfires kill cats, bad cats kill engines.
You need to see if you still have a catalytic converter, and get it inspected.
They failed so often, many of them have been hollowed out.
It's possible that all these have been changed trying to fix flooding problems, but it could already have a bad cat or failing compression.
Those cause flooding.
If the ignition components checks out, then the charging system is left.
Check battery, be sure the terminals are clean & tight.
Corroded or loose grounds happen too.
If you haven't yet, read this thread.

Don't get discouraged, a lot of things that cause problems are easy fixes.
Other specific things that you should know are about the MAF & ESS sensors.
They can cause a lot of problems when they just need cleaning.

I am in the Raleigh/Durham area as well. I also recently purchased an RX-8 ('09). I am a lifetime member of the Tarheel Sportscar Club (THSCC). I have a good network of car people and mechanics in this area. I couldn't find a local rotary specialist. There are local Mazda dealerships, and I met a rotary specialist that works for a dealership in Charlotte at our last autocross. Based on the advice of other club members, the rotary specialist, and other car folks, I took my car all the way to Eastern TN to Kevin at Rotary Resurrection.
All that to say, if you find a reputable rotary specialist in the Raleigh/Durham area, please let me know. haha.

Thanks dude that actually saved me a lot of time.
I'm still been having minor issues with mine
Hopefully it's not a full rebuild but it's good to know
of a place to take it atleast.
I didn't plan on giving up yet lol
