Gears and Gasoline (a popular YouTube automotive channel) just started a video series on a RX-8 R3 barn find. They already have two videos out on the project so far.

Is he not knowledge with rotaries, I don't really know much about this channel. His fuel mileage seemed pretty pitiful, I get about 23-24mpg on the highway in mine. Only briefly skimmed the video but at one point he thought he blew a coolant seal but continued to finish off the trip without any issues?

 

he wasn't very knowledgeable on rotaries (despite there being an FD in his shop) but that kind of made it entertaining .
Yes, he kept saying he blew a coolant seal and kept pushing forward. He was topping off the coolant every day so he definitely had a coolant leak / issue somewhere in the system but managed to keep going.

I as well had never heard of this channel before this.
will say the guys who put in the work to deep clean / details that car: nicely done gentlemen!

 

Gotta keep the rotary in it because its an r3 model. They are soo hard to come by.
