code reader

Hi everyone. I have a Innovo obd code reader. When my check engine light is on, I clear the codes, but they keep coming back on. Is there a way around this?

Thanks.

Chad

For clarity, in case you're prone to falling down the google hole, BigCajun correctly stated BAD cats kill engines. Cats are fine and work great and do good things. Maintain your engine, and your cat will live a long happy life. Abuse/neglect your engine, and it'll take out your cat, which will turn around and seek revenge taking out what's left of your engine.

Thanks, didn't notice the typo.
BAT Cats sound badass, though.
