Make him a lower offer and see if he bites. Problem is a used BHR catless midpipe is probably just as good as a new one, and if it isn’t, you don’t want it (although I don’t know how they go bad). BHR catless midpipes are highly regarded because they are reasonably quiet and have a decent tone.
