Gang, I received a call from someone who identified herself as being at Mazda corporate telling that the catalytic converter I just had installed 3 weeks ago is being recalled as CALI just upgraded their requirements and They would be reaching out to my dealer to set up the replacement. I received an email from what appears to be Mazda experience usa confirming my email. I called my dealer and he had no knowledge of this supposed recall, I called Mazda Corporate and the woman I spoke to had no record of the call or email or even of a recall and suggested it might be a scam. If it was a scam, I can see how they could easily get my phone number, but how would someone know I just had a new Cat installed?? They also knew the name of my dealer, Koeppel Mazda. All i did was reconfirm my email address so Im not concerned about a scam, my phone will usually detect and low out a spam call., My email I won't open any attachments I m not expecting and there was none on the one I received. Anyone else get a call like this regarding new requirement for the California Carb rated Cats??
