intake manifold aerodynamics question

is there anyone here in the collective that has any experience with knowledge of aerodynamics of the throttle body and intake manifold? not necessarily in a rotary engine. undoubtedly there is a certain amount of turbulence created as the air passes over/under the blade of a throttle body, and i was wondering if anyone had any insight into a benefit to rotating the throttle body in such a way as to improve the individual intake runner filling. the scenario would be a naturally aspirated engine, such as an inline 4 where the runners are in a row after the throttle body. i know this might be a silly thing to wonder about, but the thought entered my mind and i feel i need to know. i spent some time searching for wind tunnel type analysis, but didn't come up with much. thoughts?

The intake from mazda is as optimized as anyone is ever going to get it.

[QUOTE= not necessarily in a rotary engine.

the question is general, for all engines that control airflow via a throttle body
