I need some help. I'm thinking about getting back into an RX8 for proper track build. One thing I REALLY want for the future car is a CAE ultrashifter. On their website, they list one for the rx8 5spd gearbox and one for the 6spd NC Miata. The NC miata 6sp is the same Aisin AZ6 6spd in the RX8s so it should fit. I emailed CAE and they believe it should fit too BUT asked for measurements of the shifter flange and bushing diameter to confirm.

Big ask: does anyone have their center console out and are willing and able to take some measurements? If you come through for us, you'll forever be known as a God damned legend.

DAS SHIFT! their website says it will fit Rx8 so not sure what the issue is. there are no differences in the hole in ANY rx8 wether 5/6/12 speed

 

 

First off, Rasta, what a guy!!! Thank you so much! See kids? We could all learn a little something from Rasta's fine example.
I missed where it said the NC shifter would fit an rx8 6spd 🤔 And I went back and looked again still can't see it. I'm sure it will but $1000 is a lot for a shifter and I need to be 100%

So to that end, here is a pic CAE sent me this morning. I need the green and both blue lines for an S2 transmission. Rasta, is your car S1 or S2?

 

maybe im a little confused but as i said the openings in the shell of the car are the same regardless.. i dont have a clue what dimensions the s2 transmissions have on the tailshaft if thats what you are wondering sorry :P youre welcome otherwise tho!

https://cae-racing.de/CAE-Ultra-Shifter_5450 if you scroll down it says 6spd which is just country spec 5spd for you no different. again i dunno s2 transmission dimensions but it seems to be made for it.. you are trying to put it on an s1 trans?

the roundish hole tailshaft is s1 the squarish one is s2
