***** In 1993 when I was 50 years old I bought my 1st sports car, a 1990 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE with 15.000 mls on the odo...... I immediately did fell in love with this Lotus and the love remained all those 28 years..... Last week, (I hope to become 78 years old in June), I bought and picked up the last new available Lotus Evora in the Netherlands and left my Esprit in good hands with the Lotus importer.
It is a Lotus Evora GT 410 Sport IPS with a 3,5 ltr. V-6 cil. 416 PS engine, Aisin (Toyota) automatic gear box + flippers, "Edelbrock" compressor + cooler, front/rear wheels 19/20", Michelin 2 cup tires, 4 pot AP Racing brake calipers, 3 piece cross drilled brake discs, Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs, further cpl. alcantara interior and a lot of weight saving carbon parts
It was rather difficult to say goodbye and I felt a little sad to leave her. Keeping was no option as I have in my garage room for only one car (and a 1975 Honda Goldwing GL1000 K1 motorbike) while I own 2 more cars (daily drivers)......... When saying goodbye and handing her over I kissed her farewell on the roof and thanked her for all the nice years together.
I am very happy with this super-Lotus and thankful that I can afford it myself.
I considered a used Evora S when I was shopping cars last year, but decided not to pull the trigger due to difficulty to service and repair should anything other than engine(having a Camry engine is nice in that regard) goes wrong, and I heard the manual trans isn't the greatest to drive. Beautiful car though, and it definitely took me a while to finally convince myself not to buy one.
