Looking for an aftermarket RX-8 header. Preferably something rad like SpeedSource, but if it's something cheap I'll just be cutting it up and putting a good collector on it or rebuilding it with higher flow tubing anyway.

just cut the OE manifold after the last port and make it 3” from there back, pretty much will get you 95% there

Speedsource primary pipes are a bit small for their length imo, as are most others

That's a valid suggestion and nothing wrong with that idea. Get rid of the internal restrictions and toss the small outlet...

My "spend money" plan was copy your new header keeping it STX/T4 legal.

well maybe it’s not STX legal unless you intend to modify it with the emissions air injection piping manifold and such? Not really up on the latest rules for that. Mine is 2” primary which is pretty rare. Most are 1.75” including the Speedsource per this pic they sent me back in 2005/2006, just so people know what you’re looking for. Which at that time it was necking down too much at the merge flange. I think they might have changed that later though. Getting pretty rare, but likely one out there somewhere:

Yeah, I'd be keeping the air pump stuff then putting a proper collector on it to merge into my existing 3" midpipe with a v-band instead of stock flanges.
