Hey guys, I recently bought a Rx8 2004 6 speed manual and the original rotative engine but have some problems. Dont starts. Just Crank (maybe is flooded)
Do you know about a piston engine by mazda(or other) who can fit with the original manual transmission of my rx8??
Thank you! And sorry for my english, its pretty bad.

You are better off putting another Renesis engine back in to it. Would be the least expensive solution. Swapping in a piston engine will require much more than just the engine if you catch me. Stay true to the car, you got a chance to put a really well built “rotative” engine that will last you a long time. Your best option if you are on a budget is to purchase a known good 2nd hand engine with recent compression numbers or at least a 6 month warranty. Or, if you have a better budget, a remanufactured engine from Mazda or a rebuilt engine from a reputable rotary shop.
What your first move should be is attempt to deflood your engine on your own. I’ll link a video that’s helped me revive 2 dead RX8’s that I purchased and both are still working just fine and have yet to even consider replacing the engines. Once you get the engine running you will need to then test it with a rotary compression tester and find out what the numbers are adjusted to 250 rpm.
