Question for ppl who have Pettit Racing’s secondary coolant tank
My question is in regards to the plastic “secondary reservoir tank” that is in addition to their aluminum tank (which is a direct replacement of the OEM plastic tank.)
My understanding is that their secondary tank closes the system to all air since the aluminum tank is filled to the top and the coolant moves back/forth between it and the secondary reservoir which has a vent on the lid.
Does adding the secondary reservoir actually lower coolant temperatures or does it just make the system more efficient since it moves all potential air bubbles??
thanks!

they seem to be a pretty rare mod,
i have only ever seen one fitted,
i have one, but probably too lazy to fit it,
Plus, not sure if the secondary tank will really fit on a RHD car,
but pettit, have never responded to my questions about it.

that’s like saying it may not actually fix something that’s not actually broken
any bubbles in the system should be captured in the factory tank; that’s it’s purpose. You should only have bubbles in the system after changing the coolant.
if it has bubbles after that, the engine likely needs to be replaced/rebuilt.
