One thing I can think off my head is that the 8 comes with pretty crappy OEM tires. Even Jeremy Clarkson mentioned the car being really slippery towards the end of that one Top Gears episode.

It's a silly test. It wins (by 0 to 0.2s) through strong acceleration you expect from electric motors, while having the expectedly low average g. So it still can't turn, but it puts power down better.
When a Miata scores the same as a Bentley, perhaps the test isn't showing what it thinks it's showing.
