I watched the install video then ordered the Bluetooth adapter. All the install videos I've watched show the adapter plugging into what seems to be an unused port on the back of the stereo next to the antenna. However, Mine has something plugged in that which goes behind the glove box and then seems to go to rear under passenger siderail. Any diagram I found seemed to indicate that it's a CD changer port, which I'm sure it can't be. I "think" it goes to the trunk area. Looking at the harness that came with the BT adapter, it looks like it uses all but 2 of the same pins as the harness that's already plugged into my stereo.

It's an '08 with Bose sound and 6 disc changer. No nav.

which adapter did you get? grom? and have you followed the wire till its end? do you have sat radio?

Just checked. Yes, it has sat radio. Possibly that harness is from the sat?

 

Look at that you answered your own question . Yes, with the grom and similar kits you will lose the Sat radio/trunk 6cd changer/minidisk.

Also don't trust everything madness says, he's wrong in 99% of his videos. there is a reason he's super popular on 'purley' but not here

 

What's 'purley'?

 

It's a facebook group where they have terrible/wrong info that they spread around like gospel. If I remember correctly the leader of the group is banned from here for a good reason.
