any first hand experience with ceramic apex seals for renesis

I'm looking to build a race car engine. initially i was going with cut rotors for full depth seals, but the builder recommend going with ceramic seals instead of spending money on full depth seals for a NA motor. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has used them.

thanks,

I like the factory 13B-REW seals the best. The 13B-MSP seals seem to be great but I'm still suspect of the shallow depth and don't know enough about them to be swayed fully one way or the other. The aftermarket is far too cagey and secretive about what alloys they use for their seals -- I can understand that for proprietary protections, but they could at least offer some statistical data of harness, ductility, heat tolerance/cycling, etc

For what it is worth, Mazda used 2-piece ceramic seals in the R26B engine that was built for Le Mans endurance racing. They also used a ceramic-based CERMET coating on the housings.

My only experience was seeing the price and click the "Back" button in my browser.
The seals alone are almost as much as a reman.

i was quoted around $1450 for Iannetti ceramic and would get around $260 credit towards the oem seals from the new motor.

That's cheaper than any place I've seen. Who's the builder?
