Arrow Not Sure What to Do with my RX8

I have a 2006 RX8 Shinka that I had the engine rebuilt and runs great. Yesterday I got side swiped on my front quarter panel. And of course the guy who hit me took off. With that said I have liability only (I know I know stupid). So with the damage I'm pretty sure I can't afford to have it fixed so I need some ideas on what my options are. Picture below. Appreciate any help

First off that really sucks and i hope you are ok. Just from the pics i would say thats about $1000 worth of damage if you got used parts and did the work yourself. If thats not an option you could always pull the motor and find a clean shell to swap it into, also around $1000 if you did the work yourself. Lastly you could part it out, compression test the motor, with good numbers your could get $1500 and probally close to $2000+ for all the other bits, this would be the most time consuming but pay out the most. I am in overland park if you need any help hit me up.

Is that puddle your oil? If so it looks like the oil cooler was damaged, so I wouldn't run the motor until you get it fixed.

With used parts it can be put back together without too much trouble.

It's a nice Shinka otherwise, the seats and plastic exterior bits can fetch you a grand or so. Wheels as well. Motor and trans another couple of grand. That'll be a good head start toward another car.

Depends if you want another RX8. If you do,fix this one. If you don't, part it out and invest in whatever is next.

Fender, fender liner, bumper, lip, oil cooler, oil cooler lines, possibly fog light, undertray, headlight and hood...

All of these are bolt-on parts so you could probably do them with a basic $150 "mechanic's toolkit" and a garage.

Definitely don't drive it until you get the oil cooler situation fixed.

On a side note, full coverage won't help. Insurance will only pay what they think the car is worth. I just spent over $9k doing stuff to mine and opted for liability because insurance would just total it if I was in an accident
