2017 SCCA Runoffs - Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Any other RX-8 people going to Indy?

I'm entered in EP, I think at least one of the Blethens is entered in T4 and both of them in T3, they've been active here before.

There are 46 cars registered in EP, so that's easily the largest field I've run the 8 in. Very exciting. Here's hoping I can run top half.

We've prepped and prepped, and it is just about as ready as it will ever be. Spent the entire day yesterday on the dyno. We chased some problems out and finally ended up making what we think is very strong power. Tonight I've got to drop the oil pan to re-seal it (drip, drip, drip) finish cleaning it up, then it goes back into the trailer for a 5am Friday departure.

Anyone interested I'm RacerBowie on instagram and will probably just be posting there for the week. Fingers crossed I'm bored and have lots of free time to be goofy!

If I ever pull my sump pan off again I'd install one of these and do away with that silicone mess

Oil pan gasket RX8 all

Wishing you the best at Runoffs!

T4

There is currently 5 Rx8 entered in T4. The one to watch is Richard Dickey he just set the T4 track record at Road America in the Cat majors in July.
I would have been the 6th but couldn't get qualified. My first year and I was close! Keep an eye out for me if your ever in the Cendiv! I'm in the Wisconsin Specialty surgery center #47! Keep it on the black part and make us 8 owners proud!

Ieagreg1, there could have been seven if my friend OD4 had been able to get his car together sooner. Maybe next year. He likes the free Hoosiers for winning.

RacerBowie, good luck! Finish strong and make us proud!

Team, thanks for the tip on the pan gasket. Mine is due.

Team, thanks for that. If it leaks again I'll be overnighting one of those things to the track.

T3 was a blowout for the RX8s the other day. No surprise, an RX8 is out-gunned there. Took a while for official results to post. The 2nd place finisher/pole sitter ended up DSQ.

T4 runs today right after lunch @ Indy-time

Toyo-baru & Scion were too strong; top 3 spots in T4. Congrats to Ray Blethen for 4th in the Rx8 and great drive by Don Knowles to come back to 6th or 7th in his RX8 after dropping to the back of the 40 car field.

Racerbowie had a tough row to hoe in EP yesterday, hard class to run an RX8 competitively in

I was really happy with 15th, considering the short time on development we've had and the MASSIVE horsepower deficit.

Tired.
