So my back left strut is leaking so I decided to replace them with coilovers I just need opinions on which of the three I should get, ride height doesn't really matter to me I like the stock height but I would like to be able to increase the handling a bit I know coilovers alone won't do that but which would be best for me?

Among those 3, I would recommend Tein. But, the thing with coilovers is cheap ones run the risk of being uncomfortable on the street. I don't know anything about Raceland, but Megan is definitely in that category.

Also those Megans are for a Mazdaspeed 3

But if you're going for "Best", consider spending a bit more, along the lines of Bilstein PSS

 

Ill look into the bilstein im not really looking for the best ones just good ones that will be good for a daily driver so ill decide between tein and the bilstein and wow didnt even notice lol thank you

Depends if you want to mess around with damping adjustability. Adjustability is fun for about a day, and then you set it and forget it until more mods come in, like sway bars or different springs. If that is your goal, go with the street advance. If you might not make additional changes, go for the basis.

 

If you cannot afford Bilstein PSS, definitely go with Tein. Definitely avoid Megan, Stance, Powertrix, Riceland, and all the rest. But, seriously, save enough money to buy Bilstein PSS.

Are the Bilstein B14 (or any of the others like a B16?) good for a daily and occasional AutoX and Track days?

EDIT: Basically, I might be looking for a new suspension kit because my last AutoX day it felt like my car was driving like a boat.

 

That is exactly what the B14 and B16 kits excel at.

The "rebound" adjuster on the B16 is more of a gimmick than anything. There are a couple of instances in various threads, where I explain how it works and why it is less than useful in most cases, so save your money and get the B14.

Or, if you have a little more to spend, take a long hard look at Feal. Their street setup is an excellent hybrid solution.

 

Used set of Ohlins if you can be patient and wait for a deal. they ride the best and handle very well.

 

If you are just going to be driving the car on the street then why bother with all of the adjustability?

You're either paying too much money for features you won't use or paying too much in lacking quality for a **** product.

Just get a package with dampers that are well-matched to the spring rate and call it a day.

 

For the modest bump in price over shocks and springs, I like the height adjustability of coilovers--even on a street car. I have never been happy with lowering springs. They never lower to the advertised height (usually too low), at least one corner is always weird, and there is nothing you can do about it.

I agree that rebound adjustment is not necessary for a street car, and almost always turns out to be a waste of time / money.

 

I d be even more patient and buy only new suspension. Ohlins (MAS MI00) available on ebay under $2000 new. I know this is out of your budget. Out of almost everybodies. But be patient you will like these a lot and adjustable

 

Have to disagree. That depends on the shock brand/model. It’s a “gimmick” ( your words) on a lot of lower cost brands, but has a useable function on “real” (my words) shocks ...

Gimmicks would be GAB, KYB, those cheaper Bilstein kits, any cheap coilover kit with 10+ fancy colors and zomg marketing schlock regardless of usa or jp origin, and so on ...

Real would be Koni, Ohlins, any well known professional racing shock brand

 

ps: I suppose $1999 is less than $2000, but all the Ohlins DVF street kits I've seen recently are pretty much at $2000
