Axxess ASWC Steering wheel control Help

Anyone real familiar with the Axxess ASWC Steering wheel control interface? (For utilizing the steering wheel buttons with an aftermarket radio.)

I've hooked it up exactly as the directions say (and as others have said on here) - the program box appears to program properly and it also blinks the proper amount of times to indicate the right head unit manufacturer (10 for Clarion - so it is communicating with/seeing the radio). I am able to manually program it WITH the steering wheel buttons which shows it is receiving a signal from the steering wheel buttons - but they aren't physically working once It's done programming and I go to use them to adjust volume/mute, etc.

Is there another step that I could be missing?

When it goes to a solid LED when it's done programming - is that LED supposed to be red or green? Mine shows red, could that mean there is a fault?

I have checked firmware - it is UTD - even forced it to reinstall the firmware. I tried forcing the radio type on the PC but when I plug it back in, in the car it seems to re-do the programming regardless.

This is for a series 1 - I didn't realize I was in the S2 forum when I made thread

I tried as well with no luck, everything was allegedly working properly and yet it didn't work at all. I ended up returning the adapter.

I got the Pac adapter and it works great. I originally got it because it is compatible with the stock Bose system and Axxess isn't. Then I replaced everything Bose anyway. I think it's almost double the cost though.

I already have all the metra stuff, does the pac adapter for the steering controls alone work better than the axxess? I assume it can be wired in separately. Cause Ill try it if needed

The PAC RP4-MZ11 is for S2 09+ only. I see the OP updated his post to say he has an S1.

If you have an S2 the PAC module does everything. It has the wiring harness that plugs into your car built into it. It does steering wheel controls and lets you change the LCD in the dashboard. The only thing you need other than it is the plastic dash kit.

Sounds like its time to order it. The car I bought came with the metra kit and no steering kit and a crappy pioneer. I upgraded the radio to an app radio and tried the aswc and it didn't work, Ill have to change out the metra for this unit. Hoping it all works cause I'm too **** about my car to have non working buttons. If I cant get them working Ill have to delete the buttons.

My issue was it was picking up the wrong version of my CD player. They walked me through it over the phone and fixed it in like 2-3 minutes. Super helpful tech team, I was impressed.

Butttt now 2-3 of my buttons aren't working.. but I think that is an issue with my buttons and not the adapter, as they started working intermittently then stopped entirely... the rest work fine.

I just want to say thank you! This harness blows away what was in the car. The fact that its set up to use the high level outputs on the radio made my sound quality drastically improve with the Bose, I thought I might need to upgrade but its plenty for me now and super clean. The data screen now works as well as my temp and clock. Only issue is I guess the boss radio I have needs additional steps to get the steering controls work and I realize its not the best brand but as an appradio for under 300 its the highest rated which is all I wanted.

It only has button programming for 6 or so major brands but it also has custom programming for others or if you just want the buttons to do other stuff. You can even program short and long press so the buttons can do more than one thing.

I had the Metra kit as well for my S2 and could not get it to work no matter what I did.
