UIM-->LIM Seals for Pettit SC

So I've almost compiled my whole list of parts to get my SC kit installed, but I bought mine used (obviously since they're no longer produced), and the original Upper Intake Manifold seals/gaskets that came with the kit are degraded and falling apart, not to mention being sort of heat-bonded to the SC kit's upper intake (likely will have to be scraped off I imagine).

I have contacted Pettit to try and get ahold of another set in case they might have a few laying around still, but no answer :/ Google yields no results, but I'm not sure if "RX8 manifold gaskets seals" is the right thing to search for.

So I am wondering, are these the same seals that go between the stock UIM and LIM? Or are these some kind of custom special extra-durable, high-psi, heat-resistant seals that only Pettit can make? Could I use stock RX8 seals since Pettit likely doesn't stock these anymore? Has anyone ever faced this issue when installing a used Pettit SC kit? Or even just replacing a regular UIM? Any help/experience is appreciated, I'm just trying to work out the last few kinks standing in the way of installing my kit once I get back stateside from deployment!

Those are nothing like the seals between the LIM and stock UIM. Stock LIM-->UIM seals are more like o-rings.

You might have to make your own. You can probably use RTV or other high-temp liquid gasket material.

Hmmm... Do you think a professional turbo/supercharger installation shop would be able to fabricate this kind of thing?

You could probably use something like this and cut it to fit.

Yeah man just get some gasket material, shape, and cut with an exacto knife. We had to do this on Hoss-05's custom aluminum UIM.

Alright I'll do that then. I've never personally fabricated a gasket before... Should I use 1/16" or 1/8" gasket material?

How thick is the existing Pettit gasket material? I'd start off as close to that as you can manage.

The OEM gaskets are probably close to 1/8th but half (or more) of that thickness is recessed into the UIM.

Purchased and shipped! Thanks for the info. I ordered my Black Halo Racing/KOYO aluminum radiator and it has shipped as well, along with the RX8Performance/GReddy CAI setup and Ryan Rotary pulley set... All I need to get now is the RE-Medy water pump and I think my SC kit will be ready to install!

*Sigh* Maybe sometime in November, I hope..? And hopefully I can get all this stuff installed/configured/tuned/running smoothly before I deploy for another 6 to 8 months, supposedly in May or thereabouts (but who really ever knows?). Not the most luxurious life of spare time, but as they told us in boot camp: "The military defends freedom and democracy - we do not practice them."

Othersyde feel free to PM me questions when you get back and start putting it together. Or if you need more pics. That RRP pulley kit is a really nice upgrade. I was starting to get worried that my bearings were worn from all the rattling and inconsistent boost but the pulleys solved everything. The SC is barely audible at idle now. Sounds better than brand new.

Your car will truly feel different. Boost is so seamless that you don't even realize it. The car will just feel smooth and fast.
