Any Recommended Shops In The Austin Area?
I just moved to Austin a few weeks ago and am wondering what places I should and/or shouldn't take my car for repairs and whatnot.

Auto Repair | Round Rock+Georgetown | Auto-Spec
^ This is the only shop in south Texas that I would recommend and I don't recommend any shops really. Rotary Performance in Garland is reputable as well. But I suggest you do your own work because 99% of self proclaimed rotary mechanics suck *****.

For anything I don't absolutely need a dealership for. I end up going to this place - Loyal Austin DIY Shop
They'll provide a lift, full set of tools, and will let you use any of their specialty tools. Which covers 95% of what you'll ever need. Otherwise Autozone has been able to rent the rest. $20/hr during the week and $30/hr on the weekend. Saved me a few thousand so far, at least.

I went to the Round Rock location last year to see if they could help me with an idling issue on my FD and they essentially told me that they don't really work on rotaries anymore (including 8's). I can't vouch for their Georgetown shop but from my experience I'd say don't waste your time with the Round Rock shop.
The Mazda dealer on Burnet is alright, but you're going to pay dealer prices. If taking your car to Dallas isn't out of the question, go to Rotary Performance.
Well, sadly I am not surprised. There is no market so I am not surprised. People that buy used rotaries don't tend to utilize shops.
Our only local rotary shop (Alamo Rotary) closed it's doors a few years ago and the owner pursued other business ventures and now drives Mclaren.

Probably general repairs and maintenance they share with piston powered vehicles, like tires, brakes, alignments, etc.
