hotwiring an rx8

I bought an auction car RX8 i believe its a 2005, came with no keys of any kind, trying to make sure there is no mechanical problems before i have it towed to the dealership and pay a fortune to have it reprogrammed and keys made... is there a way to bypass this computer crap just for testing purposes, i just want to hear it start before i have keys cut, and programmed, and tow bill etc

I've never heard of a way to do it, sounds like asking for more problems to me.

You can jump the starter without a key....
I doubt the immobilizer will allow it to start BUT if you had a rotary compression tester available you can see what the motor health is cold anyway... Thats about it

You can't.... Thats the reason i said a ROTARY COMPRESSION TESTER

SOME will tell you to remove the valve in the bottom of a piston engine tester and it'll give you a decent reading... This is still crap... You NEED a rotary specific tester.

Get a compression test at the same time. Mazda should have the right tool. And read up on what you just bought.

Never buy an RX8 and assume you don't need a new engine, lol.

You said in one post that you think it will cost $500 and another post that it will cost you 5x what you paid for the car, so assuming you weren't exaggerating and that means you paid $100 for it, worst case scenario you can part it out for way more.

Now, about you thinking it will cost $500? You can get new keys on ebay for under 40 bucks each and programming should be about $100, cutting them should be another $10 or so. There is no way to start the car with the stock PCM and no programmed key.
