Specs of OE battery?

Anyone know (where to find) the specs for the OE battery -- CCA, capacity, etc.?

The recommended OE battery is the 50D20L. There are a few manufacturers but the specs seem to be the same.

The Mazda part # is 000080026RWB and the battery is used in a few different models.

And IIRC, the battery was upgraded at some point but the info I listed is fro a 2006+ RX-8 so I think it is the latest battery.

Thanks, 9k!

Weird, though -- that definitely seems physically smaller than my car's original battery. Also, when I searched for my car, I always turned up PN JF0218520E, which doesn't seem to exist any more...

Any chance it could be different for the S2?

Oh yeah you have an S2. But I don't recall (R3 in my driveway) the S2 battery being any different.

If you are looking to replace it, a 24F is a perfect fit. And, it provides over 200 cranking Amps more than OEM for about the same weight.

Not looking to replace it; rocking an Optima Yellow Top, for better or for worse, and don't intend to revisit the issue until that fails. Mainly just gathering info. Thought it was weird that I couldn't track it down.

Um, the S2 Battery is much larger ( to S1), and higher CCA.

S1 50D20L

S2 80D26L

Almost any left post battery which is not larger than OEM will fit, but does it 'perform' to spec.

Yeah, that'd do it.

Any idea why the battery mysteriously doesn't exist when searched for by vehicle in Mazda parts store databases?
