Possible Fuel Pump Issue

After the first autox of this season my car died on the way home. It was stumbling when I pressed on the gas and then eventually nothing happened when I pressed on the gas the rpms just dropped as if I was coasting. The car never stalled or shut off and it starts up normally. I believe the issue is that the fuel pump is failing. What sucks is I replaced the fuel pump about 1700 miles ago with a pump from import direct (oriellys) so I was wondering if its possible for a fuel pump to fail so early. I appreciate any help.

Edit: also sparkplugs, coils, and wires were replaced at the same time as the pump.

You need to troubleshoot. Guessing isn't going to get you anywhere. Can a fuel pump fail that early? Sure everything has a failure rate. But thinking it is the fuel pump without testing anything is getting ahead of yourself because it could be quite a few things.

First thing I might look at is if the relief valve in the pickup assembly popped off, especially if you were under 1/4 tank when it happened. It's a known issue especially if all you replaced was the pump and even moreso if it was a higher flow version. Failing that, the link 9k posted is an excellent guide for this stuff.

I dont have the car right now so im just thinking what it could be not saying it is the pump. I also called my rotary mechanic and he agreed with me that it is probably the pump.
