R3 wheels

So bought my R3 a few months ago and found hidden under the plasti dip was a whole bunch of nasty toad rash. So question is ... Does anyone know if there may be companies that can resurface a R3 wheel and then paint it back to a factory look without the uglyou road rash I'm located in the valley area of California

I responded in your spacer thread. Just call up a few detailing shops.

I've been wanting to do the same with my R3 wheels. I bookmarked this place a while ago, not sure of their rates or reputation:

did you find a place? I'm also looking to restore used r3 wheels in LA. How much are used R3 wheels worth? I'm not sure if I want to restore them when you can buy them online for $400. I already spent $190 per rim... getting them painted will up the cost to $315... thoughts?

I've got a place locally in Atlanta that does amazing work. Most of it is dealer work where they quickly turn wheels around overnight - lots of mail order. In my case, I parked it in an afternoon, picked up the next day. Over the night, they had:
  • removed wheels from car
  • dismount tires an threw them away
  • sandblasted
  • straightened
  • ground down rash
  • built back up with TIG welder
  • reprofiled the lip back down to stock
  • painted / powdercoat
  • mounted my new tires tires to include lining up markings with the valve stem
  • balanced
  • put them back on the car

all for $165 per corner.

Alloy Wheel Repair in Norcross, GA. I can't recommend them any more highly. Ask for Lamar. And no, I have no financial interest in their success, they just did right by me.

there is a "will it fit" thread int he S1 Wheels / Tires / Suspension forum that would probably be more help.

I think the offset will push the wheels out too far and it may rub, but... i'm not sure.
