Lucky 7 racing comes to mind
Neptune Speed in Huntington Beach

there's all kinds of rotary shops in SoCal so you'll be in good hands.

Yeah, Lucky 7 Racing in Duarte is where I brought mine for a reman-engine after mine blew a seal. Took about two weeks before I got it back on the road. They have their own race, too. There is another dude near East L.A. College who rebuilds RX-8 engines at his home... I just have to look for his number in my old phone.

Tri-Point Engeneering
8115 Canoga Park Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 91304
(818) 348-5385

I heard some stuff that Tri-Point have gone through two owners in a year or so, they've relocated, as well. I have yet to drive by the new location. Also, MAZDATrix in Signal Hill.

How has your experience been with Lucky7's rebuild been? Has it held up?

Oh, mine was not rebuilt by Lucky 7 Racing. They purchased a remanufatured engine from a MAZDA dealer near their shop and replaced mine with it. I'm 30 shy of 40,000 miles since I got it in two and a half years ago.

the newer reman engines are holding up good,
cheaper then an actual rebuild, depending on the shop.
and what you have done to it.

I go to Lucky 7 Racing (Duarte) or Mazdatrix (Signal Hill / Long Beach) for just about everything.
