JDM motors are identical to the one you have. Don't buy any motor if you're not sure of its compression. Often your beest bet is buying one from professional rebuilders like Rotary Resurrection, Pineapple, etc.

Engine rebuild

You need a rotary specific compression tester, with all 6 faces (3 each chamber) being tested.

Isn't getting no reading at all with a regular gauge a good indicator that it's bad?
I'm asking for my own benefit.
I know a rotary specific test is the best option for getting true compression results, but isn't that reading enough to gauge a major failure?

Yes, a good rotor will produce about 90 PSI static compression on a regular gauge, and you can remove the schraeder valve and watch the needle bounce to help diagnose a major (apex seal) failure. good videos on youtube showing this. No compression or 32 psi leads me to believe his (the OP's) motor is toast.

I meant make sure the engine you purchase has good compression. Some people have gotten burned on that.

^this is what I was also referring to.

You can get a "guess" using an ordinary tester. But to make a solid conclusion is using the rotary specific tester.

also with that low of compression, you probably have hard parts damaged, which will be an expensive rebuild.

Exclamation

OP, this section is for rotary swaps not blown Renesis rebuilds questions.
Maybe a mod can move it to the correct place.
