want to make $50k this year?

I heard the economy is bad, so I assume some of you are looking for a job.

if you are unemployed without clear direction, and don't mind sweating and wearing a protective mask at work, why not try making quality replica bumpers? It just requires attention to detail, and lot of labor, but is otherwise pretty easy.

You can sell well-fitting bumper for $500-1000 here all day. It costs less than $100 to make. Making the mold and getting the genuine bumper to replicate would be a challenge, but nothing in life comes free. You can start making it in your garage or backyard without issues.

There is always a demand for this type of stuff, and there is clear shortage of supply for quality body kits in the USA. It seems like a no brainer to me. Plenty of how-to's available on youtube and on internet.

no, I'm not joking.

Not to mention the molds degrade over time. Low volume would probably produce good results in the beginning. As the business grew just like all other replica makers the quality would suffer as the molds age producing crappier product. The cycle of life Im afraid... it only takes a couple of small changes for something to not line up anymore.

go for it man. production quality verses time put in would be the biggest concern. With a little planning and storage space you can account for the molds wearing over time. You just make a master bumper/mold then use that to make molds for secondary's. Use the secondary's to make molds for your third sellable bumpers. your master bumper will last for very many products at that rate.

Master mold will make at least 5-10 master bumpers. Each one of them makes 5-10 secondary bumpers=25-100 each of them makes 5-10 molds for production=125-1000 production molds. Each one of them can make 5-10 sellabel bumpers so 600-10000 sellable products. Even 600 is probably way more then you'll ever sell.

SuperLite 17B | Kirby Morgan This hat and been made since 1975 using that method and they still use the original molds. They've produced many thousands of them.

well I was hoping for the better since they would actually own an rx8 if reading this post. If the owner of the duraflex company owned an rx8, I bet it would fit better? well, just surprises me that superb chassis like an rx8 which is getting cheaper by day and becoming subject to many swaps and major modifications wouldn't have a good source for a single proper aftermarket body kit that fits well.
