the motor is running great but I went ahead and got a compression test done and the results are a little low, mid 6s. Talked to the tech about my extended warranty and he said that as soon as I'm ready he'll get the process started on a new reman motor. He still can't believe that the original motor is holding up after 130k miles but that's what's possible when the previous owner took meticulous care of this car.

 

It's kind of sad when in the RX-8 world we are glad our engines made it to 130k,
