FI: Most WHP on 6 Speed, 5 Speed, in your RX8

hey guys, this thread is solely for the purpose of revealing what you have put down to the wheels with either of the transmissions, and to let others know how it's holding up....

RULES:

- List your engine, ie: 13b-REW, 13b-RE, 20b etc.

- Must be a Swapped engine into the RX8 (Rotary engines only)

- List which Transmission your running (FD 5spd, RX8 6spd, RX8 5spd)

- How much WHP your making.

- Must be Forced Induction

I'm hoping this should be fun, and create some type of productive chat.

Thanks!

- Giovanni

Just look at the other build threads, see what trans they are running and what kind of power is being put down. It's not like there are a ton of swaps out there and of the ones there are, there are not many who are running the RX-8 six speed and the FD 5 speed and RX8 5 speed are virtually identical so they will handle the same power.

All the info you seek is here already, search.

This is in a section where you're more likely to find cars that actually make enough power to break transmissions...

Since an NA engine can break either one with slicks and a 1-2 drag shift it's not really a power issue

Wrong, it is a power issue. Just because you can break it by abusing it doesn't prove anything. Most of the people looking for this information don't drive their cars with zero mechanical empathy.

A better example is how much power needs to be made until I can break a gear by simply rolling into power.

i'm not talking about breaking transmissions from a Dead Stop, or Drag Racing.... NO!

What i am referring to, is Circuit, Time Attack, Roll race, Mountain Drive, or just Daily Driven and get a rush out of simply stepping on the gas till redline in each gear and have fun.

So for those with a Rotary Swap or FI, PLEASE POST THE TRANSMISSION YOU ARE USING, HOW IT HOLDS UP, AND HOW MUCH POWER YOU ARE PUTTING DOWN?

Thank You!

OK, believe that if you want but road racers who went easy on the shifting had the same power but S1 vs S2 6-speed know it's not just a power issue
