Hey guys, long story short the dealer that I bought my eight from was a bit shady, the guy disconnected/disabled the CEL somehow. When I turn the key to ON, all of the other warning lights come on, except the CEL. The car is throwing a code, so the CEL should be on when driving, and its still not. It just will not illuminate at all. I pulled the cluster out myself, but I didnt know exactly what I was/should be looking for, and I didnt want to break anything.

If anyone knows of a shop around the area thats good with cluster diagnosis/repair or if you can do it yourself, i'll be more than happy to compensate you. My cars Tagged in NC and I have to pass inspection, no CEL illuminating is an automatic fail. I appreciate it!

How do you know the car is throwing a code? And, do you know what code it is? Be careful with the cluster BTW, form what I understand, they are matched to the car and the ECU. I do not know much more than that, but there may be some data on the forum. The CEL may try to protect itself. I know that defeating the TPMS is impossible, and if you disable the bulb, it will CEL. There are some threads on that topic that may help.

How long ago did you buy the car? There may be some official folks interested in fraud...
