Anybody please help

Every time I drive my 8 from the house down the street to the store and then go back in the car to start it up, it takes a looooooong time to start up, but when I go back to start it up like 1hr or 2 later it'll start fine when its cooled down....... please let me know if you know what the problem is.

Hello,

Go get a compression test.

Hard Hot starts are the number one indication of low compression.

When was the last time your ignition was replaced?

Any trouble shooting on your part at all?

Travis

I've had the car for a year now and haven't done anything to the ignition yet and then I got a check engine light but when I took it to AutoZone, their computer attachment would not read it for some odd reason they said maybe its a fuse.

What he said.... ^^

Data like year, miles, mods, location and thing the like would make it easier to help.

(is the check engine like still on?)

I would suggest reading through the 2 threads in my signature. There is a ton of information in there.

Start from simpler stuff now since you already neglected to replace the ignition parts

Get a compression check first? if it checks out
then perform a full tune-up replace the ignition coils, plugs, wires. air filter and etc

But mostly, a hot start is related to low compression. Could also be your starter on its way out. Get an uprated higher rpm starter but keep in mind that just a band-aid and may work for a few months if you compression truly is low.

Don't just jump the guns and go for engine rebuild. My starter went bad and my car wont start hot. I replaced my starter almost 10 months ago, and its been good 60k kms now, its been running good.

Check the compression, replace the ignitions have your starter checked if its below specs then get an upgraded starter.

Again it could be anything ranging from.

shot coils, bad spark plugs, wires
Clogged CAT
Compression Loss

the thing about these awesome cars is that you gota stay on top of maintenance. Or else everything starts adding up.

you may not get a good compression score either due to compromised ignition components i think.
