s1 struts on an s2?

I've got an 09 with blown struts, my best friend has an 06 shinka that he is going to be installing coilovers on soon. I know that there were changes to the s2s, but the s1 style ones should fit correct? Is it going to mess with my ride height? Should I use my s2 spring on the s1 struts or not worry about it?
Thanks for any help!

1) We use shocks not struts

2) Suspension was something they modified in the S2 so as far as I know they won't work.

Using S1 suspension parts on an S2 will result in a slammed car due to the changes Mazda made in spring perch location.

If you use all S1 parts it will fit fine, don't listen to these guys. But I recommend against it, they changed it for a reason, just save your money and buy proper parts.

Works fine. The part # for my Bilsteins was the same S1 or S2. Same for my H&R springs. They work great. f you look at suspension parts on Tirerack, its all the same parts for a 2004 or a 2010.
