As my new (to me) RX-8 is still in warranty, I'm looking for a good dealership service department anywhere near Philadelphia, PA. Preferably somewhere that isn't hostile to the idea of DIY oil changes.

I'm also looking for a good indie shop, just as a matter of course. If nothing else, I want tire balancing and alignments done right.

Got a few thoughts on each, but wanted to hear from the community first. Anyone have any recommendations?

Alper automotive 7384 State Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19136 been going for years. Incredibly reliable and incredible prices. Tell them luke bradley sent you little sketchy area but he's the best around.

If you need warranty work that is the only time I would go to the dealer. Both John Kennedy Mazda and North Penn have been good to me in the past. They do ask for oil receipts if you need an engine replacement so make sure to keep them even if you do DIY changes.

Also heard great things about RT Tuning for suspension setups.
