coolant leak after coil replacement?

unstored my 8 about a month ago got some miss fires so i parked it and ordered the parts, just got around to replacing them today. after i finished the coil job i changed my parking lights as well as one was burned out.

after i buttoned everything up i went for a drive around the block to make sure everything worked, made it about a mile form my house, i could smell burning coolant, turned around to head home and then the coolant light came on. got home and turn the car off and popped the hood nice little cloud and some major smell.

couldnt see any active leaks. the only coolant item i touched was the line that runs from the bottle next to the ECM when i changed that sides parking light. let it cool down, checked both ends of that line and didnt see any evidence of a leak. its a pretty big leak as i can see a trail leaving my driveway and coming back,

anybody have any ideas?

Possibly cracked the radiator nipple when working around the coolant tank?
They are notoriously fragile.

just went and looked around some more, the leak is defiantly on the coil side of the engine, there is coolant on top of the coils and wires and the wire loom that runs by them.

is there a coolant line in the accordion part of the intake? i thought those were all vac lines?

There's a coolant line to the throttle body, you can see it in this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-...***-mod-36389/

You might have a pinhole in the rad hose squirting up that way.
Did you check it while running under pressure?

i didnt check it under pressure, i was worried about running out of coolant/ over heating. ill get some coolant and fill the bottle back up and check both the throttle body and the lower hose.

I just thought of something stupid, i removed the engine hoist loop, do i need to put the bolts back?

not the engine hoist bolts the holes are dry, there is a lot of coolant under the throttle body, guessing i must have knocked that connection loose. ill see if i can just tighten it back down or i may be doing the bypass mod.

thanks for the help and quick responces ill updated this when i get it all fixed up.

So I got some coolant refilled the system, and started it and watched for leaks. No leak from either coolant fitting on the throttle body, but ther was coolant weeping from one of the engine hoist loop bolt holes. Drove to work today no problem.
