Unhappy engine dry rev sound after oil change, weird smell, need help~?

Hi, and this is my tale, I live in toronto, now is -25C, pretty chill, my baby is little bit more than 100000km, 2006 model, yesterday night, I was giving my baby an oil change, it was my first time to change car oil, I used car ramp(front ramp), I dump all oil out, and I poured it in about 3.8 bottles of 5w20s, and they are 1litter per bottle, by the time my car was on ramp, i checked oil level was just 1 or 2 mm above full mark on dipstick, and **** happened, I used head lamp to luminate while working down at underground parking, and bettery went dead.
and today, I called in caa service to give my a boost, and right after i started my engine, check engine light went on and there was this very dry dry sound coming out of my engine, sounds like belt or whatever stretching and ... it doesnt looks well, also i tryed to clamb the ramp connects from p2 to p1, it just won't go up, feels like its been lost in power, my engine oil level indicator points just 2 clicks to the right from middle line, exactly same as it showed on the indicator before I changed my oil, and when i switch from "p" to "r"(when i want ot back off a little bit), it chocked backwards quiet a bit, but i had no other way, i had to left running for at least 10 minutes, to boost battery, dry sound had never stopped, along with this weird smell coming out of rear vent, something was burning wrongly, I had no idea what was the oil number that I drained out, and i turned it off, 10minutes later I started again this dry sound and weird smoke just all gone, the car runs normally all the sudden, and it can clamb ramps too, the only thing is the check engine light still on, so i went out to give it a good redline rev drive for a bit, check engine light still on until now, I dont know if i overfill the oil too much or else, I am going to check dipstick just in a bit after oil drains back to pan, anybody help me out, I love my baby, want her to be healthy thankyou!! ToT

If you're asking if overfilling motor oil 1 or 2mm above full mark may be the cause of the issues you're describing, I doubt it. Check engine light means you have a misfire. Might do well to have your trouble codes read.

A CEL does not indicate a misfire, a flashing CEL does.

OP, you may want to check there is no oil in the intake.

Did you refill your oil while on the ramps? If you did, I hate to say this but drain it and start over. Always refill your oil on level ground. Hopefully you did not damage anything.

some oil probably managed to get into the intake. next time be careful to use a funnel that dumps off below the level of the crank breather port on the filler.

Draining it on the ramp is fine but refill on the ground. Some oil probably got into your intake. Lesson learned.

were you initially checking your oil level while up on the ramps?
if so; that reading would have been way off what the actual level really was.
just keep an eye on it for the next few days.

Ok, I last checked stick today just now, it drop a little again D: will this be a problem? I mean if there is a leak, at least some indicator would turn on to inform me right? I remember I tighten plug and filter pretty well...

lol, no, the only indicator for leaks is the floor under the car, and it's only accurate sometimes. You could also be burning it, in which case there is no trace.

How much did you drive and how much did it drop? And are you on level ground when you check this?

Take your air filter out and check the intake pipe. I'll bet that's where your extra oil went. You will probably have to replace the air filter and make sure you clean the mass air flow sensor.

there is an upper limit on the oil level hash marks for a reason.

keep an eye on it now that it is within range, miles driven will also play a role in if it is normal or not.

Also avoid overfilling, and as mentioned above use a long funnel to prevent oil from getting in to intake. I just replaced my air filter and oil, next thing you know my air filter is soaked in oil cus my mechanic overfilled with a funnel.. Lesson learned, work on your 8 yourself, and take your time to do it right the first time :-)
